Connections
by daniel nanez

Up late with nothing to do? Stuck at home watching re-runs of Jerry Springer? Well, do I have a solution for you. I'm talking about nothing other than social networking. Communication has always been at the heart of what the internet is about. Before SPAM(not the meat), most of used the internet for e-mail. However, the NET has grown. If you have some time and are interested in making friends, take a look at the following sites:

MySpace.com
This is a FREE internet service which you can use to create a web-site with as much or as little information about yourself as you like. You can create a blog, upload photos and send messages to friends. MySpace also allows you to browse FRIENDS that are interested in the same things you are.
Flickr.com
This fascinating web-site is similar to MySpace but is centered around photos. Flickr allows you to post photographs online. You can browse other people's photos by location, camera type, subject matter, etc. You can make photos public or private. You can even add notes to your photos that can describe how you took a shot, or names of friends in your photos.
43things.com
This site connects people with things they LIKE to do. Again, this is yet another FREE service that connects people with similar interests. You log into your account and list 43 things you like to do. You can then meet people with similar interests. Go ahead and try it. If you like to eat peanut butter straight from the container, go ahead and list it.

So, if you have a hankering to stay inside and meet people, give these sites a shot. Who knows, you may end up meeting some great friends.
